STEM Expert: Biology & Bioinformatics (PhD)

Contractor role, remote worldwide. You help train AI systems by evaluating and critiquing biology, bioinformatics and computational biology workflows for benchmarking.

Typical work: give expert insight on genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic analysis pipelines; assess pipeline parameters, tool settings and statistical methods for accuracy and reproducibility; analyse biological datasets such as NGS, RNA-seq, single-cell, variant calling and protein structure; and document findings and best practice for the customer's team.

Who it suits

• PhD in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics or a closely related field, or equivalent industry or research experience
• Deep expertise in at least one area, such as genomics and NGS, single-cell analysis, proteomics, systems biology or computational pharmacology, with hands-on analysis of real biological data
• Professional English (C1 or higher)
• Python and/or R for scientific analysis, plus standard tools in your subfield (for example BLAST, samtools, GATK, Bioconductor or Biopython)
