Lawyer / Legal Writer

Contractor role, remote. This is an evaluative engagement: you assess and analyse written legal content for AI training, and you do not give legal advice or representation. The value is your professional judgement about written argument, such as whether writing is precise, properly qualified, pitched at the right audience and free of unwarranted overstatement.

Typical work: evaluate and compare AI-generated written responses to legal and technical prompts; score analytical quality and write detailed rationales; spot responses that sound authoritative but lack precision or support; flag inconsistencies and factual errors; and record findings in online review platforms.

Who it suits

  • Law degree from a university in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand (preferred)
  • English as a first language or fully equivalent written fluency
  • Experience drafting briefs, motions, memoranda, legal opinions or regulatory submissions
  • Background reviewing, editing or supervising legal writing by junior lawyers, trainees or paralegals

Estimate your earnings on this role

A hypothetical calculation from the numbers you enter. It is not a promise of work or earnings. Most of the difference between a headline rate and what you take home is how much of your time has paid work in it.

Per month, after tax

Slow assumes 60% of your expected paid hours, fast assumes 125%. The rate used for tasks is the fee, less unpaid tasks, divided by the time one task takes.
